We’ve just finished a little job for Crosby Lend Lease designing a new batch of folders for their property surveyors. We were really pleased with how they turned out so thought we’d post a few pics on the blog.

This weekend I got the chance to check out a new restaurant we designed at Brindleyplace in Birmingham. MASH HOUSE is a new sausage and mash venture and provides good honest grub (that I can vouch for first hand) with a relaxed atmosphere.
383 Project created the entire brand for Mash House, creating the logo, designing the interior and producing the artwork and illustrations for the walls. This was a really fun project to work on and we’re really pleased with how the restaurants turned out.
Here’s a few piccys of how we went about creating the interior…

I’ve just finished another post on the Birmingham Post business blog - this time entitled ‘One Big Wiki’. The post chats about a new service available from encyclopedia Britannica called ‘webshare’ as well discussing a collaborative way of working that businesses can adopt using new web technologies. Check it out by clicking here.

Some of you who’ve read the blog previously might remember us mentioning back in September that we were working on a project with the Broad Street BID (Business Improvement District) to launch a new site. Well, after a bit of a wait, it’s up!
Broadstreet.co.uk is a new site aimed at improving the online presence of the BID and promoting Broad Street as a business and entertainment district. It’s fair to say that this site will grow over the next few months and that the current content will hopefully get padded out as more businesses get on board with the project. We’ve built the site with a custom business CMS that links in to wordpress, which will allow all 270 businesses to have control over their individual listing pages. Eventually the aim is to incorporate a lot more business specific functionality, adding more video content, individual news blogs, special offers etc, so what you’re seeing now it’s a good few months away from what the site will hopefully become if everyone gets on board.

Part of the brief was to ensure that the entire spectrum of businesses on Broadstreet would be represented. We worked up some ideas and felt it was important to have a definate ‘night’ and ‘day’ approach to the designs. As such, if you log on during working hours the site has a different set of style sheets (triggered by the server) to the ‘evening look’ which focuses more on Broad Street as an entertainment district.

At present the site provides a few other features including a live weather stream, the usual events, news etc and a Broad Street YouTube channel. In contrast to the more polished video banner at the top of the page, the aim of the YouTube channel is provide an online stream of the best user generated videos relating to Broad Street. This might be a candid account of a families trip to the Sea Life Centre, videos people have taken at Walk of Stars launches or event specific videos from the NIA. Again, the aim here is that this will grow as more and more content becomes available.

I’ll post a bit more info on the blog as the project progresses…watch this space.

Far better than getting a packet of fags or a crusty Ginsters from a vending machine is the opportunity to get some new trainers. Onitsuka Tigers have been a fave of mine for a while, and I just found this cool vending machine their installing in Carnaby Street. Bring one to Birmingham please! via hypebeast
