Urban Pie is one of the showcase sites in this months .net magazine. It’s been out for a few days but we’ve only just managed to get one. Pick up a copy if you’re interested – we’re on page 66.

Further to our blog earlier this week about the new Urban Pie site, we’re pleased to say that an entry we made to the Restaurant & Bar Design Awards has been accepted!
Urban Pie has been listed in the Identity category on the site and will be judged through a combination of public votes and expert judges. If you thought that what we’ve done for Urban Pie was good and fares well against the other entries in this category then we’d really appreciate your votes! You will have to register to vote, but it should only take 30 seconds or so. As a design agency we’re not after votes to help boost our egos, but believe they can be a helpful sign to our clients that we’re doing our job ok! You can vote here. Thanks!

When we originally designed the interior for the Urban Pie restaurant we launched a basic web presence alongside which showed people a few interior shots and a sample menu.
Since then, Urban Pie has become an extremely popular venue and is due to be franchised at locations across the UK in the not too distant future. As such, a website overhaul was in order to help the restaurant add regular content for all things ‘pie’ and facilitate more regular communication with pie fans. The new design also makes space for a blog, games section and introduces a few new illustrated characters in to the mix.
You can see more about the project in our portfolio or visit the site.

After our last post with a rundown of our work that slipped through the net over the last few months we’re now back on track and can blog about current projects – one of which is a new website for the Jewellery Quarter in Birmingham.
The site itself has recently launched and so a few areas, particularly the directory, will become more rich in content as more businesses begin managing their own listing. The site has been built to provide a better online presence for those working and living and in the quarter, as well as those planning a visit from out of town. Historically the Jewellery Quarter seems to have been a bit lacking in terms of online coverage compared with other areas of the city and we hope that the tools on the site can be put to good use by the community they were built for. One of the catalysts which has informed the sites development throughout has been the need for an online space where the creative community in the Quarter can broadcast what they’re doing, and network with one another. We’re really hopeful that the blogs in particular provide a better insight in to the great work the Jewellers and creatives in the area produce and provide a platform for people who have lots to shout about to be more easily heard.
383 were responsible for the design and build of the site, apart from the video content and advert which have been produced by the guys from SGUD and Dene Films. There’s a bit more information about the project in our portfolio, and a big hello from blogger David Louis on the site itself.

After a bit of a content black hole on the blog recently we’re back today with a brand new site! It’s been a while in the making because we’ve been fitting it around our other work, but now its up you can expect more regular updates and better insight in to what we’ve been working on. We rebuilt the site mainly to accommodate our growing portfolio – our old site worked, but being only flash it was a bit limited when it came to updates (the flash site’s still around for those who liked it, but it’ll be taking a back seat now its big brother is finished). As well as a new look, there are also quite a few new pieces of work in the portfolio to check out. Recently we’ve launched new sites for eg, Chouchoute, Ways HR Consultancy and the Direct Marketing Commission which has kept us busy. We also have a couple of pretty big projects which are nearing completion. but we’ll save those for another post. We hope you like what we’ve done and promise to keep the blog updated more regularly from now on. Bye for now, team 383.
